Dementia is a syndrome which is linked to a very large number of underlying causes and diseases in the brain.The common causes accounting for 90% of all cases are Alzheimer’s disease, Vascular dementia, Dementia with Lewy bodies and Front temporal dementia. 

 

In simple terms, dementia is the gradual deterioration of functioning, such as thinking, concentration, memory, and judgement, which affects a person’s ability to perform normal daily activities. It is a terminal illness. There are approximately 100 types and causes of dementia.
